Job Vacancies

Finding the right employees can be expensive and time consuming. We are experienced in filling job vacancies for young people and can help you.

How can we help you to find staff? By providing:-

» a FREE recruitment service where your vacancy can be advertised.

» a method of pre-selection of young people (mainly 16-18 years old) according to the requirements you give us.

» a means of circulating your vacancy to all our Career Development Centres in the Humber region as appropriate.

» the option of using our standard application form.

» a way of arranging interview time schedules.

» facilities on our premises to interview candidates.

We can further help by:-

» advising you on legislation affecting the employment of young people.

» giving you information about educational developments.

» advising you on how to access training for staff.

Did you know for instance...

From 1st September 1999, young people aged 16 and 17 who left school or college with few if any qualifications will be entitled to time off from work to study.

New legislation has been introduced which means that any young person who hasn't already achieved a qualification at "Level 2" can expect reasonable paid time off during normal working hours to study or train for a qualification. This is part of the Government's new strategy for 'Investing in Young People' and gives them the chance to improve whilst on the job.

Level 2 here means:

  » 5 GCSEs grades A to C; or
» an NVQ Level 2; or
  » an intermediate GNVQ; or
  » a BTEC First; or
  » another specified qualification.

Providing young people with the chance to get a qualification makes good business sense and will be of real benefit to employers. For example, one of the newest ways for young people to get the skills and qualifications to do a job is through a National Traineeship and employers can get help with the cost of training too.

We can advise you about how the Right to Time Off for Study or Training may affect you and how you can benefit.
